One of her favorite things to do is getting people excited about life and their experience as she is. Joey’s professional life these days is extremely varied. As a voice coach, you will never hear me say the words “you’re not getting it”. I consider it my mission to try different approaches, techniques, and exercises until something clicks. My coaching style involves a lot of dialogue between teacher and student, and I like to use my sense of humor to keep things light and fun, even as I challenge you to go further than you thought possible. When it comes to animation, cartoons, children's e-learning, and video games, I am very grateful to have had experience on both sides of the window. On the production side, I served as voice director and talent supervisor for the Emmy Award-winning PBS cartoon, "WordWorld". I’ve also voice directed various games and toys for The Backyardigans, Go, Diego, Go!, Dora the Explorer, as well as numerous children’s audio books for Scholastic. As Head of the VO Department at Animation Collective, I oversaw the records and casting of nine shows produced for Nickelodeon, Nicktoons, Cartoon Network, and AOL kids. My TV production career started on the show "Blue's Clues", where I won my very first VO role—that of a talking mailbox! As talent, I have narrated projects for Blackberry, Cincinnati Bell, Harrah’s, Hilton, Taximagic, Petflow, WatchDox, Twilio, Green Nissan, Slendertone and Howcast.com among others. For more than three years, I have been the main voice of the award-winning Kognito Interactive, which creates web-based e-learning simulations for various clients including Starwood Hotels, Rutgers, CUNY, Baruch, Fuji Film and the Veteran’s Association of NY/NJ. I graduated from NYU's Tisch School of the Arts with a BFA in Drama, and also trained in improv through Second City. As a live performer, I have four years of stand-up, and eight years of sketch comedy under my belt. I moved to the City of Angels in 2010, and have had a great time heading up Edge Studio’s LA studio! ...

Nazia offers a very unique perspective to coaching from her diverse background in the world of both acting and music. In addition to working as a private voice and performance coach, she has performed in hundreds of productions as an actor from on-stage to on-camera, as well as behind the mic in voice over and singing. Her voice over career began in 2001 and covers the spectrum including: commercial, narration, IVR/telephony, ADR/dubbing, animation, corporate industrial, PSA, e-learning, audiobooks, politicals, and imaging. Some of Nazia's voice over and on-camera clients include: National Geographic - Discovery Channel - Hewlett-Packard - Chic-Fil-A - Frito Lay - GEICO - Marriott International - JC Penney - Shutterstock - Family Dollar - Michael’s Arts & Crafts Stores - USDA - Shriner's Hospitals for Children - Superpages - McGraw-Hill - Booz Allen Hamilton - FUNimation anime feature films (ADR Principal Voice Actor in Darker than Black I & II, Black Butler I & II, Rosario + Vampire) - Graphic Audio Deathlands Series & Outlanders Series (Audiobooks) - TXU Energy - Georgia Lottery - Duke University - Georgia State University.

Nazia enjoys instilling confidence in students and works with all levels of voiceover talent, actors, and singers, as well as speakers and business professionals. She uses a customized approach to suit her students’ needs to effectively free the voice and actor within by introducing acting, music, vocal health, and breath management techniques. These tools can help voice over talent find music and rhythm within the copy, understand vocal placement in order to sustain character voices and accents, build and increase voice and acting range, eliminate strain and vocal fatigue, as well as build vocal stamina for those long and rigorous recording sessions.

Since the age of 5, Nazia began developing her musical ear as a concert violinist until the age of 18. She began acting and classical voice training at 10 years old and began her professional performing career during college. As an actor, Nazia has performed throughout the U.S. appearing in TV commercials, industrials, films, and theatrical stage performances. Her theatrical work has garnered reviews in The Washington Post, Potomac Stages, and Talkinbroadway.com. She also worked for several years as a professional actor/role player for many corporations and government agencies in the DC area.

As a vocalist, Nazia's extensive experience in jazz, pop, adult contemporary, jingle singing, musical theater, and opera has allowed her to share her passion for singing with audiences from children to dignitaries and from concert halls to intimate jazz clubs and recording studios. She studied vocal pedagogy and contemporary jazz voice at the prestigious University of North Texas School of Music. Nazia also holds a Master's degree in music from Georgia State University and earned her Bachelor’s of Music from University of Miami Frost School of Music, covering both classical and jazz studies in voice. Nazia regularly performs live in the Atlanta area and is currently working on the release of her debut solo jazz album.

Joe Loesch

Audiobook, Character, Commercial, eLearning, Kids, Marketing, Narration

Joe is the award-winning author and producer of dozens of audiobooks. He has produced and engineered more than thirty-thousand soundtracks for radio and TV commercials, and is often the talent for many of these productions. Also, Joe is the award-winning author of more than twenty children’s books for home-schooling. In his high school and college years, he studied acting at the Pasadena Playhouse, coached by Agnes Moorehead. Later he was an audio engineer for The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Firefall and Air Supply in his Denver recording studio. (Denver was his home base in the ‘70s.) Recording Robert Redford for a documentary about mountain climbing led Joe to pursue voice acting. Joe has taught voice over since the late ‘80s. A 15-year-old Reese Witherspoon was his first student. By now, with 25+ years in VO, Joe has voiced national ads, cartoons, numerous audiobooks and eLearning projects. He has performed character voices for Disney Channel and PBS KIDS. Joe performs all character voices and storytelling for Dave Ramsey’s Junior’s Adventures. His award-winning audiobooks can be found on Amazon.com, Audible.com, Findaway World, Oasis Audio, Topics Entertainment and NewWayToRead.com. With Edge Studio, Joe is a private coach, as well as the instructor for our traveling Voice Over Booth Camp. Hardly the stereotypical order-barking drill sergeant, Joe provides gentle guidance for tomorrow's voice-actors. He carved out a fun, fruitful industry niche for himself, and loves to show people how they can do the same. Joe adds humor and understanding to make the process pleasant and fun for the client. He greets each new actor as he would an old friend, to put them at ease and get them into a learning mindset quickly. But his musical roots are not forgotten. Being based in Nashville, Joe still enjoys singing and playing with his band, The Road Crew, aka “America’s Route 66 Band.” The Road Crew regularly takes its rockabilly beat on tours across America. ...

Christian Taylor

Commercial, eLearning, Kids, Narration, Telephony

Christian's 30-year entertainment career spans stage, screen, and sound booth, as she has been talent, producer, director, casting director, and coach. She loves people and takes great joy in helping them stretch and reach their goals. In fact, she taught acting and PE to grades K-12 for 10 years. Christian came to Chicago's performance scene from Mississippi by a circuitous route. After cutting her acting teeth in the Theatrical Arts Society of Stony Brook, NY, and further honing her skills in the Drama program at The Catholic University in Washington, D.C., she worked in radio and TV on Capitol Hill, and toured with The National Players in Much Ado About Nothing and Animal Farm. Her recent activity also ranges widely. She’s the signature voice of Kaleida Health, and has also voiced commercials, corporate narration, e-learning, apps, video games, explainer videos, audiobooks, children’s games, and documentaries, for clients such as Johnson & Johnson, Automatch USA, Whirlpool, Proctor & Gamble, Clorox, Service Master, L’Oreal, Hoover, Bank of America, McDonald’s, Daedalic Entertainment, Creative Baby, Publix, General Motors, Harley Davidson and Cigna. In addition, Christian is a live emcee announcer and seen on-camera for Khol’s, Contrave, Nabisco and Walgreens. Ever the teacher, Christian has been a talent coach for more than a decade, also teaching many improv workshops over the years. In all this, she enjoys the support of her husband, four fantastic (and, she says, sometimes slightly insane) kids, and her adorable doggie, Brooke. She’s also a Cubs fan, and when not cheering them on (See? It works!) she keeps busy with improv, horses, and her own sports and Chicagoland activities....

Anne Hartung

Audition, Commercial, Narration

Anne has been working in voiceover production and casting since 2007, and directing and producing theater even longer. After getting her BFA in acting from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts, she worked with various audio studios throughout New York City, while simultaneously producing and directing her own creative work. Anne’s exploration of live performance gives her unique insight into helping an actor’s voice be clear, expressive and special. Her diverse background also helps her adapt to each student’s focus and needs. Working in a positive, friendly manner, with special attention to developing and controlling one’s breath, she makes beginners feel comfortable with their voice, and helps seasoned talent push themselves to give more dynamic reads. She works with children pretty much the same way, finding that most kids respond positively to being trained in a manner similar to training adults. She has a wealth of patience and her nurturing attitude helps kids find their foothold in the vocal world. She has also directed many plays with children in the cast, and worked with large groups of young actors at Perry-Mansfield Performing Arts School & Camp.. Seldom short of breath herself, Anne does double duty. As Senior Production Manager and Director of Casting at Edge Studio, she knows exactly what clients look for. And when we’re looking for her, if she’s not coaching, managing or directing, we find her busy writing, storytelling, and running around the beach. Sometimes all at the same time!...
