Serbo-Croatian Voice Over Accents and Tips

Serbo-Croatian (or Serbo-Croat) Is a set of closely related dialects spoken in much of the former Yugoslavia, namely Serbia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, and Montenegro. It is difficult to create Serbo-Croatian voice over to encompass all of these areas. Many citizens of these countries today insist that Serbian, Croatian, and Bosnian are each distinct languages. If so, the spoken languages and mutually intelligible, only differing in a few words and style. However, because of the area's history, the differences matter a great deal to the speakers on a political and personal level. Each generally considers their language to be the original, and all the others to have borrowed heavily to create their own language later. If you wish to record voice over for a specific population within this part of the Balkans, be sure to get someone who speaks the correct dialect: Serbian, Croatian, or Bosnian.
