  • English is generally 25% longer than Finnish. (A Finnish :60 second commercial will be about :75 seconds in English).

When preparing Finnish voice over, it’s important to know that spoken Finnish differs significantly from written Finnish. When preparing copy for Finnish voice over, it is important to make sure that your copy, when read, will not sound like someone who "puhuvat kirjakieltä" or "talks like a book," as this sounds a bit pedantic to most native Finnish speakers. Spoken Finnish tends to use more word shortenings and abbreviations than written Finnish.
